Complementary TherapiesMy Complementary Therapy practice, offers the following treatments which are tailored to meet your needs so that you feel completely comfortable. AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE This is a relaxing and therapeutic massage. Three essential oils are chosen, based on their healing properties, to suit your physical, emotional and mental needs. They are then blended in vegetable (carrier) oils before being applied to your skin. Aromatherapy can help relieve: * Anxiety and Depression * Stress and Tension * Muscular Aches and Pains * Arthritis and Rheumatism * Menstrual and Menopausal problems * Skin Conditions * Cellulite and Water Retention * Digestive Disorders CRYSTAL MASSAGE This is a loverly treatment. I learnt crystal massage with world renowned teacher Denise Whichello Brown. Ususally the crystals are used to massage the backs of your legs and then your back, but if you prefer just your back can be massaged. Only the area of your body being massaged is exposed so you feel secure and warm. A carrier oil is first massaged into your skin. This enables the massage with the crystals to be smooth and flowing. Different types and shapes of crystals are used in the treatment. I use palsmstones, spheres and massage wands especially shaped for massage. You can choose some of the crystals I use. If you are drawn to particular crystals this usually means you are attracted to their energy vibration and potential healing properties. Below are examples of the crystals I use: Rose Quartz - emotions, love, Selenite - a layered crystal that helps the body at a cellular level Fluorite - Lepidolite - Picture Jasper Clear Quartz - At the end of the treatment I use an Etheric Weaver which is a clear quartz crystal, with gel colours of the chakras, entwined with copper. The Etheric Weaver is held within your aura to help weave together any weak area or holes in your aura. CRYSTAL THERAPY Further details to be added soon. HOT STONE MASSAGE Hot Stone Massage is a relaxing treatment using hot smooth basalt (volcanic) stones of varying size and shape. The stones are used to deliver effective tissue and muscle massage. The warmth of the basalt stones is comforting and induces deep relaxation. It also creates a feeling of continuous heat throughout the body. Sometimes cold marine stones are used on parts of the body if there is inflammation or a muscular injury and to refresh or stop your body from overheating from the hot stones. When hot and cold stones are used together they release deep tension and toxins held in the muscles. Crystals are also incorporated into the treatment. What does the treatment involve? The basalt stones are placed in a heating unit, covered in water and heated to the appropriate temperature according to your health, skin type and age. Heated stones are placed either side of your spine and then covered with a towel so when you are lying on them they are not in direct contact with your skin. The heat and pressure of the stones gently penetrates your skin and muscles releasing tension and stress. They increase blood flow to the area being worked on which further accelerates your body’s healing process as oxygen and nutrients are brought to the area. Stones are placed in your hands, on top of the towels covering your body and between your eyebrows and even your toes. Massage oil (with the option of added essential oils) is applied first to the area of your body to be massaged and then the stones are used. The basalt stones used are then tucked against your body and fresh hot stones are used to continue the massage. Once the massage of the front of your legs, arms, upper chest, face and scalp has been completed all the stones under and on top of your body are removed. You then turn over so that the backs of your legs and your back can be massaged with the stones.
